How to Read a Teleprompter Without Viewers Noticing Eye Movement
Whether you are recording a 60-second Instagram Reel, a YouTube tutorial, or delivering a Zoom keynote, reading wide paragraphs across a laptop monitor creates a telltale horizontal "windshield-wiper" eye motion. Follow these three broadcast studio adjustments to eliminate eye darting:
- Use the "Auto-Break into 5-Word Breath Lines" Button: Narrowing each line to 4–6 words allows your foveal vision to capture the entire phrase in a single center fixation without sweeping left to right.
- Read Exclusively Inside the Top Eye-Line Band: Never chase words down to the bottom of the window. Adjust the Speed slider so the text rises into the blue highlight band at your natural 135–150 Words Per Minute speaking cadence.
