North Korea Claims To Have Invented The Sun; Provides 47 Minutes Of Unverified Footage
The Korean Central News Agency announced Thursday that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has successfully invented the Sun, crediting Supreme Leader Kim Bong-Fun with 'the greatest act of solar engineering in human history.' The announcement was accompanied by 47 minutes of state television footage showing a large, bright, spherical object in the sky above Pyongyang, described by the narrator as 'the first sun, conceived and realised under the personal guidance of the Dear Leader.' International astronomers who reviewed the footage said they 'could not rule out that it was the sun' but noted the sun 'was already in widespread use globally before this announcement.' South Korea declined to comment. The sun rose on schedule the following morning without crediting anyone.
