Man Spends Rs 2.4 Lakh On Standing Desk, Now Stands At Dining Table Anyway
Wife confirms he has used the desk exactly once, to place a UPS on it.

Gurugram resident and product manager Aakash Mehta, 31, reportedly spent Rs 2,40,000 on an imported electric height-adjustable standing desk in January — only for his wife, Priya, to confirm to this reporter that the desk has been used exactly once, to store an uninterruptible power supply unit. 'He spent two weeks researching it,' Priya told us. 'He made a spreadsheet. There were pivot tables.' Aakash, reached for comment, said he 'intends to start using it properly after this current project wraps up.' The project began in November 2023. The desk currently has on it, in addition to the UPS: three Amazone delivery boxes, a yoga mat (never unrolled), and a commemorative IPL mug.
