Man Creates App That Text Messages His Wife Excuses For Not Helping Around House

Software developer Steve Avoidchores has created an app called HubbyHelper that automatically sends excuses to his wife for why he can't help with chores. The app uses AI to generate believable excuses that rotate based on time of day and current task. When Steve is detected watching TV for more than 30 minutes, the app sends his wife a text reading, 'Sorry, I have to run to the store for something important.' When the dishwasher needs loading, the app sends, 'My knee is really acting up, might need to rest it tonight.' Steve says the app has 'saved his marriage by giving him plausible deniability.' His wife, who has figured out the app exists, has started responding with 'Okay, I'll handle it, and I'll remember you didn't help.' The app has been downloaded 2 million times, with 80% of users being married men who 'need help with communication.'
